My {new} office teaser.
I spent my entire weekend working on my “new” office and wanted to show you a progress shot. I finally bought a bookshelf. Having my catalogs and client folders on the floor was getting old. I ended up going with the Expedit Series from Ikea for extra storage. I had been thinking of getting a few of the classic Billy bookcases, but after seeing photos of this office, I immediately changed my mind. I love the cubby style shelves and the depth. Even my biggest, fattest catalogs fit. To make things a little more custom, I painted the area behind the bookcase a bright blue that I had left over from a job (a sample quart that was mixed wrong). You can sort of see it in the one semi-empty cubby. I went with blue after being inspired by all the shades I saw at Market, specifically the Worlds Away showroom, and because Camille Styles’ told me it boosts creativity.
I took this picture Sunday afternoon when Gus was giving me the “enough already” look (also known as the “time for a walk” look). Buddy. The bookshelves are not quite done at this point but at least it gives you a taste of my new office. A teaser if you will. I still need to paint the walls, my desk and few picture frames. Many more weekends will be spent in here, no doubt, but it’s a pretty good place to start.

I am loving your new bookcase and everything in it! Especially all of the storage baskets and boxes you’ve got in there. I’m jealous, I want an office now
